Production steps of silica gel products
1, Characteristics of silica gel material
A. silicone raw materials are generally gelatinous, somewhat similar to rubber paste, colorless and translucent, tasteless.
B. Its main characteristics are high temperature resistance (300 ℃) and low temperature resistance (low-100 ℃), which are currently cold and high temperature resistant rubber; at the same time, it has excellent electrical insulation, high stability for thermal oxidation and ozone, and great chemical inertia. The disadvantages are low mechanical strength, poor oil resistance, solvent resistance and acid-base resistance, difficult to vulcanize, and expensive price. Service temperature: - 60 ℃ - + 200 ℃.
C. Operating temperature: as described above, it is generally set at - 40 ℃ - 200 ℃, and can reach 230 ℃ in a short time.
D. Aging problems:
The resistance to oil, acid and alkali is poor, which has little to do with the stress.
E. Bonding problem: before surface treatment, in addition to using silica gel products as adhesives to bond with silica gel parts, the bonding with other parts must be through surface activation, and the rubber surface can be cured to bond. All the materials that can react with rubber or make it cross-linked are collectively referred to as curing agent, also known as cross-linking agent. There are many kinds of sulfurizers, and they are still increasing. Sulfurizers used include sulfur, selenium, tellurium, sulfur compounds, metal oxides, peroxides, tree esters, quinones and amines.
F. Material hardness: according to the shore hardness, theoretically, the rubber parts can be selected between 10 and 80 degrees in the domestic market. The ones that can be easily found are generally 20 to 70 degrees, and the ones commonly used are 40 to 50 degrees.

3, Product size and characteristics
A. Limit size: 15-20mm for thickness, 30mm for sphere. Generally, the recommended thickness is no more than 3mm. When the thickness is greater than 3mm, it will take more curing time and increase the cost. In theory, the thickness can reach 0.2mm, but in design, the thickness is generally 0.3mm, and 0.4mm is recommended.
B. Relative size: in terms of thickness difference, it is recommended not to exceed 3 times for thin part and thick part. This kind of problem mainly depends on the requirement of temperature and pressure when the material is vulcanized.
C. Shrinkage. The shrinkage of silica gel material is related to the hardness of the material. The secondary materials provided by the manufacturer are mostly between 1.022-1.042. For materials of 40-50 degrees, the shrinkage is generally 1.03. Compared with plastic, silica gel products will not produce similar obvious surface defects due to shrinkage.
D, dimensional accuracy the first mock exam is because the silicone products are mostly one mold and many holes. Therefore, the size control is not as convenient as plastic products. The general accuracy is plus or minus 0.1, and the high-precision products are plus or minus 0.05. When the fit is used for the fit between the hole and the key of the plastic part, the small gap is 0.1 on one side, and the recommended value is 0.2 on one side.
E. Outline design: for rubber sleeve parts, generally provide the original drawing to the mold factory according to the outline drawing of the product, and explain the matching problems at the mold factory's discretion. In general, depending on the size of the product, the fit between the rubber sleeve and the product is generally a negative deviation of 0.2-0.5 on one side.

In terms of hand feel, the toughness and elasticity of silica gel products are very good, and it is not easy to be permanently deformed due to external force, and the hand feel will be relatively smooth, while the fake silica gel products are easy to be deformed, and the touch is also relatively rough, because the fake silica gel surface does not have a layer of grease like substances. Real silica gel products are easy to get dust. After using water, the dust will disappear. Nowadays, many wearing products on the market are made of TPU and TPE plastic, not silica gel. Please pay attention to distinguish clearly.
From the aspect of characteristics, silica gel products are non-toxic, tasteless and colorless products with good texture and no harm to human body. However, it is difficult for generic fake silica gel products to achieve these effects. Fake silica gel products are generally toxic, pungent and rough!
At the same time, we can also burn the real and fake silica gel through the flame. The fake silica gel products produce black smoke when they burn, and the residue is black powder. The real silica gel products produce white smoke no matter what color they burn, and the residue is white powder.
